1. Video sequence analysis for automotive industry
- Goal: Compared performance of various door rubber samples in a laboratory setting
- Work included:
- Digitalization of the video sequences to generate digital images
- Segmentation of the images
- Extraction of data from the segmentated images for further calculation of physical data results
- Development and implementation of image processing algorithms
2. Semiconductor reverse engineering based on images taken in a photo-laboratory setting
- Goal: Retrieved original schematic from images mainly to ascertain copyright infringements
- Work included:
- Developing and improving algorithms to compress and transfer data faster between the laboratory equipment and the computer station
- Reconstruction of the whole image depicting the semiconductor layers using mosaic images taken by UV/Microscope based imaging environment
- Development of image filters to detect certain patterns on the mosiac images as well as trace these patterns along the images of the mosaic and between the different semiconductor layers
